In 2008 a small group of family members started Bible study and prayer meetings from a home in Nansana belonging to one of the members called Balaam Ssempala. During these early years, Balaam would lead the meetings. As the number of believers grew, so did the needs of the people attending one of which was for a formation of a church. In 2009 the church was founded under pastoral leadership of Balaam.
The church was initially registered as Salvation Ark Worship Centre Church but was later changed to Rock of Ages Pentecostal Church following a spiritual revelation by God to the pastor.
The church was re-registered as a community based Christian organization in the names of Rock of Ages Community Pentecostal Church with offices located in Nansana, East 1 Zone, Nansana Town council, Wakiso District, Postal Address P.O.Box 34157, Kampala.
Under the direction of the Holy Spirit, the church began to form new ministries, such as the Youth ministry, Children ministry and Outreach ministry. In 2011 the church launched the first outreach mission starting with parts of central and western Uganda including Masaka, Rakai, Ibanda, Bushenyi and Fortportal. The church has continued to organize outreach missions covering other parts of the Uganda including Gulu, Lira, Soroti, Mbale and Iganga districts.
The church journeyed on, the Constitution was finalized in 2013 with the appointment of five elders to the board.
Today, we are writing a new chapter. Our community is growing, our worship is blossoming, and our teaching is more relevant than it has ever been.
Please join us. We’d love for you to be a part of this next chapter in the Rock Of Ages story!
